Deploying
Problem Structuring Methods in practice requires not
only expertise and knowledge in the methods and associated
tools, but also an array of skills relating to the PSM
process. These craft skills are an essential component
to a successful intervention, whether they are components
of facilitation, or a tacit understanding of what is
required next in the consultancy project to bring about
purposeful action to the problem situation. This year's
PSM stream focuses on the transferability of PSMs: apprenticeship
and teaching PSMs; and the transfer and development of
process skills within the practitioner domain. Other
PSM papers will also be presented, particularly those
whose theoretical developments are based in practice. |
